Last day in Hong Kong

OK, now we've seen the handover. So what's left to do ?

Leaving our Imperial Hotel. Very nice service, but what a rate and not very good rooms.

Totts, Talk of the Town at Excelsior hotel

Last night in Hong Kong was spent at the Talk of the Town bar on top of the Exelcisor hotel in Causeway Bay. We went here because I really wanted to have their famous Mango Sushi again. Unfortunately they did not do this dessert during the handover period. Or maybe they were out of the rice, we didn't really understand the explanation. But anyway, the ice-cream-sherbet that we got was excellent, one of the best deserts I have had this year.

Me and Mia having our drinks, waiting for Judy and the others to come.

Here you see Mia and Judy with the Ice-cream sherbet in front. Delicious, especially the orange sherbet.

Lennart and Mike also made it. They were really hungry. For some reason, Mike was not given proper service here - which was excellent otherwise. Maybe the place didn't like real Americans ?

OK, time to leave the rainy Hong Kong. I don't think I've ever seen as much rain.

This is the old Kai Tak airport, soon to be replaced by the new one in Lantau island. The old airport is supposed to be converted into a park. It is very impressive to watch the flights land just over the shorter skyscrapers of Kowloon city. Unfortunately for me the wind was in the other direction so the planes landed from southbound. And the ones departing where quite high high and not visible due to the rain.
