Guangzhou First day part 2

Now we were walking just outside the hotel in the old center of Guangzhou. All the scents, the noise and people is impossible to replicate on the web.

Some of the smaller and narrow streets.

The roads are really getting narrow, especially as they are built on top of each other.

Check out this forest of credit card authorization terminals.

In the department store you still pay at a central cashier where you get stamps e t c. But the good news is: All credit cards accepted, Visa, Master Card, Amex, Diners, JCB and of course the local Great Wall card.

Lennart at one of the bridges crossing the roads.

The first department store we went into. Here we found some really fun toys and gifts. But I couldn't find it again, as I was about to buy a new Barbie doll at $ 7 USD.

The open market is squeezed in between the many buildings. Really narrow.

The new freeway inside Guangzhou is built on top of the river. Not beautiful, but efficient. A bit sad, but probably necessary.

A small gazebo in the middle of a park, at Shamian.

A typical colonial villa on the Shamian Island.

One of the really fun and typical waste paper baskets on the Shamian island.
